about Molly

Molly Hagman was born and raised in Sweden where her passion for dance really took off at Malmoe Dance Academy in 2009. Molly immersed herself in all dance styles offered at the academy, representing World Dance, including Belly Dance, Bollywood, Samba, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Street styles, Jazz, Contemporary and Ballet. During her 6 years as a student, and later on a teacher at MDA, she established a versatile foundation.

In 2014 Molly completed a one year Commercial Dance education at International Dance Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. As part of the program she got the opportunity to train at the world-renowned dance studios Millennium Dance Complex and Debbie Reynold’s in Los Angeles for 3 months. There she trained with some of LA’s top choreographers including Yanis Marshall, Nika Kljun, Tricia Miranda, Will Adams (WillDaBeast), Misha Gabriel, Jojo Gomez and Gustavo Vargas.

In January 2016 Molly packed her bags and left for New York City to study dance at Broadway Dance Center. She did the International Student Visa Program with ballet as her concentration, and graduated in October 2019 after almost 4 years of full-time studies. She took classes for some of the most prominent teachers in the city and got mentored in ballet by Natalya Stavro and Jamie Salmon. The technique-forward training gave her a great foundation and the right building blocks to truly elevate her dance.

Alongside her dance program’s curriculum, Molly has trained with some of the best salsa dancers in the world. In 2016 she trained with Franklin Diaz and formed part of his professional team, having the honor to debut his Boogaloo routine alongside Selene Tovar as a duet in June 2016. Her ultimate merit is having been a member of the world-renowned salsa company ‘Yamulee Dance Company’ for over 6 years since joining in August 2016. She had the privilege to teach and perform with the Pro team Yamuleé for many years.

Since September 2022 Molly is freelancing as a professional dancer, and her career has really taken off. She’s performing her salsa solo at various events nationwide, as well as teaching at different dance studios in New York. She has also recently joined a partnership with the legendary ‘Vittico La Magia’, a pioneer in the New York salsa scene, since April 2023. They are now teaching and performing together, and taking the salsa stages by storm!
